Sonal Bhalla MD, is a board certified in both Rheumatology and Internal Medicine, and currently practice at Riverhills Neuroscience in Cincinnati.

Dr. Bhalla specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis and other musculoskeletal and autoimmune disorders affecting joints and muscles. Rheumatology care is provided for a wide range of conditions, including: Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Gout, Lupus, Osteoporosis, Vasculitis, and other inflammatory / autoimmune / rheumatic conditions.

When should I see a Rheumatologist?

Everyone experiences muscle and joint pain from time to time. When the muscle and joint pain is not resolving as one would expect, additional evaluation may be needed. Your primary care physician should be is seen for the first evaluation. If there is concern for an underlying rheumatic condition, he/she will refer you to rheumatology for further evaluation.

Earlier referral should be made if you have relatives with autoimmune conditions or rheumatic diseases (as these conditions can run in families) or if you experience rapid worsening of your symptoms.
